Time

I admit I was struggling to figure out what to write to put on the page today, to figure out what to put up. But as I looked through what I've shared with my players, my friends throughout my time running Falling Leaves, I've realized that I've spent a lot of time writing about the world of falling leaves and the people in it.

So allow me to share with you some of the lore of Falling Leaves, starting with this piece that talks about time, death, and art among some of the races of Falling Leaves.

Enjoy.

For many Elves, and Half Elves time is a struggle. The aging of friends that they make, the passing and changing of society around them. When it comes to friends going or passing away it can become hard for many of them to deal with it.

For some the death doesn't connect as much as they think it should, and feel guilt that they don't feel more hurt when loved ones pass away.

But others care so deeply, so persistently, that you can feel that ache through a tightly closed door, can feel it in every word that talks about their past.

Many people think it would be easy for them to stop caring, to stop noticing the deaths of others. But for many of these long lived races it is just the opposite, they care and love for years, decades, ages after a loved one has gone, and put just as much love into new bonds, new relationships, new friendships that they make.

The long-lived species love deeply, and often...and will love long after those they love are returned to the ground.

The short lived Kobolds often surprise people with their thoughtfulness, often taking on tasks no one kobold could ever finish in a life time. Through community and courage Kobolds take on tasks that often surprise even elves, often toiling for generations with little to show for it.

But still they work at their collective dreams, building it up, and up, and up through the years.

a kobold is not afraid of leaving a work unfinished, because they know others will carry on the torch for them, and through their shared memory...even those who passed long before a task was done are said to celebrate.

It is said that an elf's art, their stories, their music, their words can bring people into the past as though they lived it*.

But a kobold's art, their work, their persistence can give people a glimpse into the future.
