Classes, Scale, and Anxiety
I never really put much thought in what it would mean to adapt a campaign I'm still running into its own stand alone system. And it's...well discouraging I guess, and stressful...
The idea was pretty simple in my head, look at the classes my players have been using for inspiration for the classes. Unfortunately a large, magic heavy party makes for...some difficult choices. Because either I'm left with a dizzying amount of scale for how many classes show up among my players, or I end up taking things away, changing their characters if I reduce the scale. I don't know what to do.
I want so badly to build a game that I can keep running my campaign in, and have fun with my friends.
I don't want to take anything from them, but I also can't handle this. I need to reduce the number of classes, it's...it's too many to start with.
What do I do?
I'm already looking at 7 classes, and that's not even what everyone has. It already feels too large, and not large enough.
